Passover

Every year, since I can remember, I have celebrated Passover with my extended family.  This year was no different.

Colden had fun hanging out with his cousins...
Colden and me with cousins Shana and Chaya.
(How do Colden's teeth look, Chaya?)

Doing a puzzle with cousin Chaya

Colden and Chaya racing up the stairs

Chaya, Asher and Colden (the three east coast baby cousins)

I will say something though -
Growing up, I don't remember using a kid's book as a Haggadah...
Our Seder had a new order...
(By going through the alphabet, we didn't miss a thing.  We just started with the afikomen and ended with some Zzzzz)

And I don't remember the Seder being led by a hand-puppet...

...Or the 10 plagues being discussed while wearing representative masks.

Honestly.  This new generation doesn't know how good they have it.  :-)

And Colden's favorite part of Passover??
Why, carrying around and playing with cans of macaroons, of course!

Happy (late) Passover!

Boston Marathon

After Colden helped us pack (he's such a big helper)...

We were off to Boston to watch Mike run the Boston Marathon!

We dropped Mike off at 7:30am

So that he could be bussed off to the starting line

Mike's cheering squad (Grandpa, Nanny and Uncle Gil...and me) had a few hours to kill before Mike finished the race, so we went site-seeing around the finish line

It was a gorgeous day for the Marathon!  And we were ready to cheer Mike on!
(we got there early enough to secure a prime viewing location right along the railing - about 100 meters from the finish line).

Mike's major accomplishment called for some celebration!
(Colden's first sip of beer)

It's hard work being such a dedicated fan!

Congratulations Mike on running the oldest annual marathon in the world and arguably the most prestigious marathon!  We're so proud of you!!

How did this little baby:

Turn into this little man...
...so quickly?!?!?

Somehow a year has come and gone and we wanted the whole world to know it was Colden's birthday (or at least the local people who get Channel NBC 10):

We threw Colden a birthday party at our house on his actual birth date (April 2nd)

 It was a jungle-themed party...

And Colden was dressed for the occasion and ready to party!

 Colden had fun singing songs...

...playing musical instruments...

...and laughing with all of his family and friends.

And what's a birthday party without birthday cake?!?
(I made this jungle cake to go along with his jungle theme)

I'd say he loved his cake!

And he loved his presents too! (Thanks everyone!)

Colden had such a great time at his birthday party, that he partied until he could party no more...

Happy 1st birthday to the best boy in the whole world!!
