Just when we started to feel like "pureeing pros"...
We started Colden on finger foods!!
He wasn't quite sure what to do with the food at first...
But it sure was interesting when it got stuck on his fingers
And it sure was fun flapping his arm trying to get the piece of food unstuck
It's funny how he would put everything in his mouth...except the food we wanted him to pick up and feed himself. We finally had to show him that it was good:
Once he realized that it wasn't that bad, he was willing to try himself.
Hand-mouth coordination was definitely something that he had to work on. The food seemed to end up everywhere but his mouth:
His chin.
Between his toes.
The floor.
We decided to plop him in his highchair...
...and let him "discover" food.
And boy did he have fun!
It took him a little while, but he finally got the hang of it.
Not only can he feed himself now, but he can drink from a cup by himself too!
Yeah. Another thing he can do all by himself?
Take off his bib.
