Finger Foods

Just when we started to feel like "pureeing pros"...

We started Colden on finger foods!!
He wasn't quite sure what to do with the food at first...

But it sure was interesting when it got stuck on his fingers

And it sure was fun flapping his arm trying to get the piece of food unstuck

It's funny how he would put everything in his mouth...except the food we wanted him to pick up and feed himself.  We finally had to show him that it was good:

Once he realized that it wasn't that bad, he was willing to try himself.

Hand-mouth coordination was definitely something that he had to work on.  The food seemed to end up everywhere but his mouth:

 His chin.

 Between his toes.

The floor.

We decided to plop him in his highchair...

...and let him "discover" food.

And boy did he have fun!

It took him a little while, but he finally got the hang of it.

Not only can he feed himself now, but he can drink from a cup by himself too!

Yeah.  Another thing he can do all by himself?

Take off his bib.

Cruising

Colden is a man on the move, and he won't let anything get in his way:

He has also started cruising to get where he wants to go:

When wearing socks, it's easier for Colden to stand on the carpet than it is on the hardwood floors.  But, there's always so many more interesting things to look at on the hardwood floors.  Failed attempts to pull up to a standing position have landed him a few bruises.  Instead of buying a helmet, we bought him non-skid shoes.

Problem solved. (Temporarily)

Let It Snow

Daddy took Colden for a ride around the block in his new sled

Colden loved it!

Weight: 19 pounds, 5 ounces
Length: 28 inches

(3 days)

(1 month)

(2 months)

(3 months)

(4 months)

(5 months)

(6 months)

(7 months)

(8 months)

(9 months)

This is Colden right before he almost crawled off the edge of the couch.  Taking these bunny pictures is now a 2 person job!

Playing with a new camera can lead to a fun, impromptu 9-month-old photo shoot
(Thanks dad - for getting yourself a new camera.  I'll wait patiently for mine)

(look at all of those teeth!!)

Colden is now proficient at standing and can even multitask while standing:

Talking on my cellphone is one of his favorite past-times.

Colden has also started giving his version of a kiss (aka: an open-mouth slobber-fest on your cheek).  He even likes giving himself kisses...
