Chores

At 18.5 months, Colden has really started showing an interest in helping us out with our daily chores.

Who are we to say "no"?  :-)

We started including Colden, and he now has his own daily chores 

(which he looks forward to doing...for now!)

1.  Feed the cat and dog twice a day

Colden is usually pretty good about getting the food in the dish...unless Frankie, racing to get the food, bumps the cup mid-pour.

Now it's Josie's turn to be fed:

Colden also likes to fill the animals' water dish.  After many (messy) failed attempts, we figured out how to get water in the dish and not on the floor...

(Watering cans can be used for so much more than just watering flowers!)

Speaking of watering flowers...

2.  Water plants/flowers

 

3.  Walk dog

Of course Colden can't walk Josie by himself, so he usually holds the leash with a little help:

Next chore on the list?  Mowing the yard!  :-)

Fall Fun

Beautiful fall weather calls for some wonderful fall fun!

Pumpkin Picking:

 

Colden picked out this pumpkin all by himself.  After trying to lift it, he soon realized he needed to find one a little smaller...

Petting Zoo:

 

 Colden pet all of the animals except for the cow.  He was not a fan of the cow.  Sorry, cow.

 

Apples:

We missed apple-picking at our local farm by one week.  We had to settle for the already picked apples...which tasted just as good to Colden.

Muscles

I'm not sure where Colden learned how to show off his "muscles"...

Philly Zoo

Colden loves animals.  

Our regular running route from our house takes us by a farm. Every time we turn onto the road with the farm, Colden excitedly yells, "animuh"!  (animal)

We thought, instead of just seeing the same old horses, ducks, sheep, pig and goats...that we would really impress Colden with a trip to the Philadelphia Zoo.

 

Of course we had to stop by the monkey exhibit...

...So that Colden could show off his monkey shirt!

Colden really seemed captivated by all of the animals...

A day full of excitement and walking around called for some R&R.  Colden always found the best places:

We had a great day at the zoo!  "Bye-bye animuh"!

Colden loves animals so much that he is getting pretty good at imitating them...
