Soccer

Today was Colden's first soccer game.
He is on 'Team Navy' at the YMCA.

Let me tell you - you have not truly been entertained until you watch a bunch of 5- and 6-year-olds "play" soccer.
Some kids were playing with blades of grass, while others were playing with their hair. Some parents were trying to coax their kids to run in the right direction while other parents were yanking their kids off of the field. A little bit of crying, some pushing and lots of laughter.

Here is a video to give you a taste of what we watched for 30 minutes
(they have 30 minutes of practice and then a 30 minute game)

Not that we are biased in any way, but Colden was the star of the day - the final score was 4-1 and he scored all 4 goals. :-)

Here is the star in action:

Colden had possession of the ball probably about 90% of the game.

The 10% of the time that he did not have possession was when he played goalie

Mike and I joked that Colden will be the first 5-year-old to get a red card :-)

All business on the field. He owned it!

Good game!

Bragging to everyone on the sideline after he scored his third goal.
